# Integration with the Vault Layer

AML screening is designed to work alongside City Protocol's vault infrastructure. In KYC- or KYB-gated vaults, the Whitelist Manager controls which addresses may deposit. AML screening provides the data layer that informs those access decisions. A typical integration pattern is: screen a wallet before adding it to the whitelist, and screen inbound transactions before settling deposits. This ensures that compliance checks occur before capital enters the vault, not after.
