This is critical for emerging ecosystems like Base. The DeFi infrastructure and TVL are already strong. The next unlock is distribution, connecting projects with creators, incentivizing real engagement, and turning attention into growth.
The Vision
Virality Leaderboard is the attention layer for Base.
It is the platform where projects distribute rewards to creators based on quantifiable contributions, and where creators are ranked, recognized, and compensated for the mindshare they generate. It creates a powerful feedback loop: projects fund attention, creators produce it, and users discover through it.
Integrated into the Viral City Base mini-app, Virality Leaderboard is the first step any project takes to onboard to Base.
It is composed of two core modules: Infomarket (measuring mindshare) and City Rewards (distributing rewards).
Infomarket
Infomarket tracks the real-time mindshare of featured projects and creators on Base, measured by content activity and engagement on the Base App. It has three components: Market Map (project mindshare), Top Gainers/Losers (project momentum), and Creator Leaderboard (individual creator influence). All three are driven by a unified set of mindshare factors.
Mindshare Factors
For projects, mindshare is determined by:
Creator volume: the number of high-quality, real content creators producing content about the project.
Cast volume: the number of project-related casts posted on the Base App.
Engagement depth: total engagement across all project-related casts.
For creators, mindshare is determined by:
Content quality: the number of high-quality, insightful casts published on the Base App.
Engagement earned: total engagement received across all casts.
Network strength: the number of smart followers on the Base App.
Market Map & Top Gainers/Losers
Market Map displays each project's % share of total mindshare on the Base App. A higher percentage means greater attention dominance within the Base ecosystem.
How to increase Market Map %:
Launch innovative products or initiatives with clear PMF within Base.
Consistently engage Base users.
Distribute rewards fairly to top creators.
Top Gainers/Losers tracks projects with the sharpest shifts in mindshare, surfacing which projects are rapidly capturing attention and which are losing momentum, in real time.
Creator Leaderboard
Creator Leaderboard ranks individual creators by their cumulative mindshare contribution across the Base ecosystem. Top-ranked creators have consistently produced high-quality, high-engagement content and earned broad recognition.
